Die chinesische Pedalfirma Joyo hat das R-09 Vision angekündigt, ein sehr preiswertes zweikanaliges Modulationspedal mit 18 Effekten an Bord. Unter 90 USD soll es im Handel kosten. Damit könnte es fortan das Pedal der Wahl für viele werden.

VISION is a dual channel modulation pedal, supporting stereo input and output. Both of the two effects have independent SPEED/RATE, CONTROL, and DEPTH/MIX knobs. In the middle of the panel, a 3-position toggle switch is used for choosing the sequence of the two effects’ output. Besides, each channel features 9 effects, you can adjust various tones with the independent Tap Tempo control.

DS-2 Turbo Distortion

Die japanische Firma Zoom ist ja allseits bekannt durch ihre zumeist sehr günstig angebotenen Effektprozessoren. Begonnen hatte alles vor gut 20 Jahren, als die damals noch junge Company mit ihren miniaturisierten Geräten, wie etwa dem Modell 9002, die Fachwelt in Staunen versetzte. Eine komplette Gitarrenvorstufe mit allen erdenklichen Effekten in der Größe einer Jumbo Zigarettenschachtel – so etwas hatte es bis dato noch nicht gegeben. Doch im Kapitalismus schläft ja die Konkurrenz bekanntlich nie und so standen die Geräte von Zoom stets mehr oder weniger im Schatten der marktbeherrschenden Firmen, allen voran natürlich BOSS oder DigiTech. Zumindest im Pro-Sektor, denn unter den „einfachen Bodentretminen“ für günstiges Geld findet man zumeist etwas Passendes im Angebot bei Zoom. Eine Art „einfache Bodentretmine“ ist auch unser heutiges Testmodell, das Zoom Multistomp MS-50G. Obwohl das vielleicht nicht ganz der Wahrheit entspricht, denn in dem unscheinbaren Gehäuse in Form und Aussehen eines einfachen Single-Effektpedals versteckt sich durchaus mehr. Zumindest mehr, als es der Preis von unter 100,- Euro vermuten lässt. Das brandneue Zoom Multistomp MS-50G nun also im Test auf Amazona.de.

So entsteht ein völlig neuer und einzigartiger EHX-Fuzz-Sound, den wir noch nie zuvor gehört haben. Originally designed by Josh Scott of JHS Pedals and graphic designer, Daniel Danger as a homage to Electro-Harmonix in what Josh and Daniel consider the company’s design heyday of the 1970s, the EHX Lizard Queen Octave Fuzz is a nano-sized version of the pedal brought to life by the engineers at Electro-Harmonix that has all of the tones and vibes of the original circuit design by Josh. The tone is inspired by EHX’s fuzz pedigree with a unique analog octave up circuit that has all the vibe of the original design first featured on the JHS Show in 2022. This creates a completely new and unique EHX fuzz sound we’ve never heard before. To further tell the tale, the pedal is adorned with vintage EHX-inspired graphics designed by Daniel.

Housed in EHX’s Nano-sized chassis, the EHX Lizard Queen is a fixed gain fuzz pedal which features Volume, Octave, and Balance knobs. Volume controls the overall output volume level. The Octave control adjusts the level of the octave-up signal from zero to full octave chaos. Perfect for dialing in a crushing rhythm sound or a chimey, clanging lead sound. The Balance knob sets the tone balance between the smoother Shadow setting and the raspy, biting Sun setting. The effect of the Balance control is especially apparent with the octave set high.

The Fulltone 2B is an amazing boost pedal, born from the “Boost” channel in our FD3 pedal. Soon after the FD3 came out I started getting a steady flow of emails asking if I could “please make that into a single channel Boost pedal!” So I crammed the circuit into the smallest possible enclosure 4.5" x 2.1" x 2.3" with battery tucked tightly inside and even engineered space-saving rear-mounted IN, OUT, and DC power jacks, and added an important feature not offered in the FD3.

Der Bite-Schalter liefert den nötigen Biss und verschiebt die oberen Mitten und Obertöne, damit man deinen Anschlag mit dem Plektrum deutlicher hört. Für den Feinschliff sorgt der 3-Band-EQ, wobei du die Höhen zusätzlich mit dem Regler für Hi-Treble abstimmen kannst. Mit dem zweiten Fußschalter bekommst du bei Bedarf knurrige +12 dB am Ende des Signalwegs dazu.

Der Pigtronix Quantum Time Modulator erzeugt mit nur drei Reglern und einem einzigen Schalter ein Paralleluniversum analoger Time-Stretching-Effekte. Als Verkörperung der Grundprinzipien der modernen Atomphysik in Pedalform kann der Pigtronix Quantum an unzähligen Orten gleichzeitig sein und verändert sich sowohl als Reaktion auf das Eingangssignal als auch auf die Beobachtung. Der Pigtronix Quantum nutzt mehrere Bucket-Brigade-Verzögerungsleitungen mit unabhängigen Takten, die durch eine stufenlose Mischung aus Hüllkurven- und LFO-Quellen moduliert werden. Die entsprechenden Regler für Empfindlichkeit, Geschwindigkeit und Quelle werden durch einen Chorus-/Vibe-Schalter ergänzt, mit dem der Nutzer zwischen reinem Effekt und einer Mischung aus sauberem Signal und moduliertem Audio wählen kann. Diese äußerst flexible und dennoch benutzerfreundliche Konfiguration bietet in Kombination mit einem TRS-Stereoausgang zahlreiche Klangfeldkonfigurationen für Mono-, True-Stereo-, Wet/Dry- und Wet/Dry/Wet-Setups.

Pigtronix Quantum Time Modulator produces a parallel universe of analog time stretching effects with only three knobs and a single switch. Reflecting the fundamental principals of modern atomic physics in pedal form, the Pigtronix Quantum can be in any number of places at once and will change in response to both input and observation. Pigtronix Quantum utilizes multiple bucket brigade delay lines with independent clocks modulated by a continuous blend of envelope and LFO sources. The corresponding sensitivity, speed and source controls are augmented by a Chorus / Vibe switch which allows the user to choose between pure effect or a mix of clean signal and modulated audio. This eminently flexible, yet easy to use configuration, combined with a TRS stereo output provides numerous sound field configurations for mono, true stereo, wet / dry and wet / dry / wet rigs.
