Description

Produced between 1996 and 1998, this high-gain distortion unit delivers aggressive, cutting tones tailored for heavy rock, industrial, and metal genres. Instead of conventional passive equalization or dedicated high and low potentiometers, it relies on a specialized active tone-shaping network governed by two distinct midrange filters. The Punch control functions as a pre-distortion boost to add mid-frequency presence, bite, and attack. Meanwhile, the Contour control modifies post-distortion equalization to scoop or reshape midrange bands across its rotation sweep. Internal multi-stage clipping diodes generate dense harmonic saturation while preserving tight low-end response. A standard Level and Distortion configuration allows users to balance master output and saturation levels.
