ENVELOPE FILTER
Description
Built into the classic folded sheet-metal chassis, the original twin dynamic envelope filter uses two swept narrow-band filters tuned to separate frequencies that respond dynamically to instrument attack. The circuit shifts two resonant peaks across the tonal spectrum to impart vocal, formant-like filtering over both bass and electric guitar signals. A singular external control governs the sensitivity of the internal envelope follower to adjust how readily the twin filters sweep. A front-panel slide switch engages an aggressive integrated analog distortion stage voiced to clip the higher frequencies and accentuate upper harmonics. Dual internal trimpots calibrate the frequency sweep range of each individual resonant filter to adapt the response to specific instruments. Direct hardware switching passes the input signal to the output jack when the effect is disengaged.What's missing here?
